Ulysses Virginia Roberts is the new Grant county registrar of deeds. She was sworn in monday by Kansas Secretary of state Jack Brier at Ulysses Roberts replaces Netta Smyth Tilson who resigned on february 14 for health reasons. Roberts will serve the remainder of Tilson a term which expires in january 1981. Roberts plans to run for the next term As registrar of deeds and has registered on the Republican August primary ballot along with Dorothy Wheeler. Francis b. Longtin is the Only Democrat to file for the office. Roberts was a former employee in the registrar of deeds office when she was appointed to the Post by the Grant county Republican committee. The timing of her appointment was convenient because Brier was in Ulysses monday to explain the Kansas presidential preference primary to voters.
