J Galveston Playground Notes The Louis Adoue Memorial Playground has such a brand new and perfectly love- ly aspect these days. When one out there in a quizzical way to survey the lay of the land, of course the di- rectors are a bit afraid, for first Impres- sions rather dangerous in these strenuous times. In this age when one metis another for the first time there is an upward tilt to or a very expression, and when either is lacking there's something brewing. And so It Is with playgrounds. IVhen Galvestonlans heard that there was to be another playground in tho city, everyone looked skeptical, and then Pleased aid then utterly blank But In- ritatiors were Issued in a diplomatic way and but dislnterested-for- the-moment citizens straggl-d their way within its conrmts 10. a surreptitious manner. It is an ideal fitted with all modern methods of play, things which might tempt eve.i the moat ous boy or girl to run away from school and a perfectly wonderful day. Not that this is a suggestion, but what more rould a. vnunsrster desire than to loll around in an Ideal spot? The in- ducements offered are great swings and bars and the slides, and .-ee- pools and in fact, everything that would delight a V- O'li" and even a full grown up person vif.iiid not disdain a day at the play- tround in the open.
