Slavery to Day the average american school boy girl will Tell you that slavery was abolished by Lincoln s emancipation proclamation in 1862, and it is True that negro slavery was abolished at that time but there Are several kinds slavery in existence now Here in the United states and the slaves Are not coloured either. Many men Are slaves to their political party. They will do anything in their Power to increase the strength their part and seem not to think ask whether it be right. They believe anything that their party claims to be True and in fact Are much like the person who when asked whether he believed in certain things which the democratic party set Forth exclaimed Quot i believe in anything that is they Pride themselves not in their ancestors being always ready to Aid in every Reform but that they have always belonged to the one party to which they belong. They Trace their family history Back generation after generation and Tell you that with perhaps one two exceptions All have j belonged to the same party and these few exceptions always proved to be worthless Fellows and a disgrace to their family. Som even go so far As to think that those who do not belong to their party cannot get to heaven. These men would indignantly deny the charge but they Are slaves to their political party. Then there Are the slaves to Strong drink and All slaves to Day these Are the most miserable. Once they were As pure Light hearted and free As the child that walks at your Side. Look at them now a Ith their cleared eyes and blocked faces ashamed to look their former associates in the face. The worst part this kind is its deceitfulness. When drinking his first Glass a Man never thinks he can possibly come a level with those besotted wretches who reel along the Street but Little by Little Glass by Glass he is loosing control his appetite and is getting More and More under the Power the monster drink. He will never believe that he is a slave till he tries to Stop drinking then if he fails he must acknowledge the truth Quot a slave to Strong slaves to Public opinion some men before under taking any special Bonsi Jess changing their Mode living ask themselves Quot what will Smith say a Quot Jones Brown my chums at the club my employers will Uliey sneer at me will they say Well Ujiie ? not seeking after the truth but showing by their questions that they Are slaves to Public opinion. Slaves to tobacco. This is one the most disgusting habits which men Are guilty. They can t even confine their spitting to their out door time but must spit the floor and stove which their wives work so hard to it Elt clean. Shame you men is that wha you meant when promised to love cherish. Etc ? How Many men say that their wives May be Quot Boss Quot in the House and they will be Quot Boss Quot out the House and yet if your wife has her Vay do you think that you would be s in Irving tobacco juice around tie hones half the time you say tobacco is such a Comfort to you. That you can t give it up. So you own up do you now you might be Man enough to give. Our wife As much Money to spend for herself As you spend for tobacco tier apr that would be some Comfort to her does she not need any Comfort. Maples. <3pennsylvania Liias. To Washington d.
