We learn Frei reliable sources that the Spring Trade of fort Wayne never of it Ned with More Envoi imaging prospects than in the present year. Our Jie Schaa to with a foresight that does them credit have made preparations for this condition of affairs and have consequently Laid in larger stocks of All kinds of goods than Ever before. All of our leading establishments Are crowded with customers every Day and All things seem to Point to a successful season for the business men of fort Wayne the bail Oad facilities which fort Wayne possesses Are proving an immense advantage to her. Of nearly All the roads accommodation trains Are run coming to this City in the morning and returning in the evening thus giving the passengers ample Opportunity to make purchases it while in the Summit City. These advantages Are largely improved As the loaded trains which arrive every Forenoon abundantly testify and the amount of Money which is put into circulation in it or midst through this Means is certainly very Large and hard to estimate. Beal estate. The appreciation in the Price of real estate in the City is also a very flattering indication of is Prosperity and growth. The past year seems to have added about fifteen per cent., on an average to the Cash value of property both in the business pair Saad the outskirts of the City. We know a number of cases in which prices that would have been eagerly accepted a year ago by property owners Are now Indig. Vantly refused. The causes which have led to this increase in value Are numerous the completion of the Street railway the location of several new Manfu curing establishments at this Point and tie Large additions to the old ones which have already contributed so much to the value of our property being no doubt among the leading ones. The real estate business is extremely Active in our City just at present. Several important sales have been effected in the past two or three Days and others scarcely less important Are now Oitzer consideration. Or. John Hough has Jim disposed of his lot and office adjoining the Gazette building for the sum of $20,000 to Allen Hamilton a co., Bankers. We have not Learned what they propose doing with the property. It does not seem probable that they will erect a Bank building on this lot As their present quarters Are so elegant and commodious. Or. Graffe of the firm of Mayer amp Graffe jewellers for the sum of $12,000, Cash. Messes. Mayer amp Graffe intend erecting a magnificent building thereon to be occupied by their jewelry establishment. In Man mar riel to a woman a incident Neil Wal came of it. One of the most Liu Lorous incidents which we Ever heard of took place one or two evenings since at a hotel in our City. It seems that a girl was employed a Short time since As a servant who seemed to have a Strong fondness for the masculine gender and to court attentions from like male guests of the House with much avidity. So a number of the dining room girls chambermaid decided to have some fun at her expense. One of them dressed herself in coat pants and Vest and was very Well disguised. She was duly introduced to the verdant female and passing an evening or two in her company declared her iii love and a proposal of marriage which was at once accepted. The Date was fixed for last tuesday evening when a guest of the hotel arrayed As a priest performed the marriage ceremony in the presence of the entire servant Eirl Force of the establishment. They retired to their apartment after receiving the congratulations of the parties present at which Point we Quot draw the veil Quot Over the matter. Palmer Richmond Deputy and that another bid of s25,000 was made for the lot and building occur in de by the merchant s National Bank on the opposite Comer. Both of these offers were refused. But in this connection a question arises for our capitalists to solve and which bids fair to become very serious if proper attention is not paid to the matter Ere Long. This is none other than the problem of where to put the people who Are daily coming to fort Wayne with the View of taking up their permanent residence in our midst but who Are met on the threshold with the glaring but indisputable fact that there Are to Day positively no houses to rent in fort Wayne. It seems remarkable that the capitalists and land owners of the City do not make up and erect neat and comfortable houses the number of which would be in some reasonable proportion to the demand. The direct interest on the Money Laid out might not be so Large As on some other classes of investments but the annual increase in the value of property and the indirect advantages which would accrue from this action would certainly in the end make it profitable to the builders. The building and loan Are doing a Good work but they Are not enough. And now when Oor merchants Are purchasing Lair and finer stocks of goods than Ever before when new to anus a tur ing establishments Are being erected and old ones enlarged when numbers of storerooms Etc., Are being constructed and everything tends to illustrate the rapid strides which fort Wayne is making in All the things which constitute a great City the question of providing houses for our increased population should command our consideration. Abram Myers of Portland Oregon and one of the original settlers of that thriving City is now in fort Wayne the Young Man Hurd whose sudden and strange illness has been described in the Gazette died at the St. Joseph s Hospital on tuesday evening at 5 o clock. The general features of the affair Are extremely mysterious and it is improbable that the cause of Burd s death will Ever be known. Or. Myers it the attending physician is convinced that he had partaken of that dreadful , aconite which produces such awful writings and contortions on the part of the victim. Hurd had scarcely any acquaintances in this City and to those who knew him was singularly reticent and backward answering remarks addressed to him yith Monsylla Bles and seeming to be mentally depressed from some cause. On saturday evening at 8 o clock he arrived in fort Wayne and immediately retired. In the morning his groans aroused the Landlady and he was not conscious thereafter. It seems from letters addressed to him that he has been estranged from his relatives residing in Michigan on which account he left Home. Whether he committed suicide was poisoned intentionally or took Poison by mistake will probably never be the Case seems particularly sad to die among strangers without a moment s warning and to depart in such suffering and torture is surely a hard Fate.
