On tuesday at that meeting there was a question raised in the committee by one of its members representative Luther Jones As to the authority of the director Delwin Jones to employ staff members without prior committee approval 2 _ there was thorough discussion of the matter and four other members of the committee expressed approval of the action of the director and the employment arrangement was confirmed for August and continued on an indefinite basis. Taken to the Hospital by ambulance were Fred Bobbitt and his wife Vera and Britt Archer and his wife Molly. The men were treated and released while their wives remained in satisfactory condition in the Hospital at press time Friday. The Accident reportedly occurred As Archer the Driver of a 1967 Ford was attempting a right turn onto ninth while travelling South on Pecos and collided with the Bobbitt car a 1969 Ford which was westbound on ninth. Bobbitt was driving his vehicle at the time and the Impact of the Collison caused his car to come to rest in the Yard of a residence at the Corner. The Archer vehicle received heavy damage to the front end. Which the other car took heavy abuse on the right Side. The Archer car was a total loss and both cars were removed by wrecker.
