Two and one half week tour to the holy land via a 747 plane carrying 385 people leaving from new York City. They landed in Athens Greece and then started the trip partly by chartered bus and train from there. Some of the places they visited were Egypt Syria Samaria Lebanon and others in the med Terrean sea area. They spent a Gold bit of time in the Home land of Paul visited Tel Aviv the Jerusalem embassy and the River Jordan. While there Many of the members of the tour were baptized in the Jordan in the customary Way of their Church. Jordan and miss Rubye Arnold of Darlington attended the christening of Little Gregory Scott Smith son of or. And mrs. Sonny Smith at the Salem methodist Church at Elgin. The Rev. Dwight minis pastor of the Church christened the baby. The Mother is a former member of Salem and the pastor is a Darlington native. After the service a family dinner was held at the Home of or. And mrs. Fred Miles in Elgin or. And mrs. Cecil s. Arnold mrs. Colder a. Abby says or. And mrs. Jim Mcdonald went to Sylvania a. Recently to attend the wedding of her sister. Mrs. Mcdonald stayed for a visit with her family and her Hus band will join the group later. Or. And mrs. Hazel c. Stokes have been on a Vaca Tion of about two weeks. They visited relatives in Virginia and Maryland returning by Way o f Williamsburg. C a b Tomato Bun Wiches 2 cans ounces each crab meat drained and flaked 1 cup finely chopped celery 1-3 cup Mayonnaise 1v4 Teaspoons Lemon juice 1 Teaspoon chopped Green onion tops or chives 1 Teaspoon prepared horseradish 14 Teaspoon garlic Salt 2 Tablespoons soft butter or Margarine 6 hamburger buns split 12 lettuce leaves 2 cans 13 ounces each Tomato aspic stuffed olives for Garnish Combine crab meat celery Mayonnaise Lemon juice onion tops horseradish and garlic Salt. Spread teas Poon butter Over each Ham Burger half. Place Bun halves on serving plates top each with a lettuce Leaf. Slice each can of Tomato aspic into 18 thin slices and arrange 3 slices on each lettuce Leaf. Place cup crab meat salad in Center of aspic slices. Garnish with stuffed olives. Put three Cherry halves in Center of pie and arrange pineapple titbits and Cherry halves in wheel spoke design alternating fruit. Melt Apple j Jelly Over hot water. Brush fruit with Jelly.
