Although Diller Only has 11 athletes out for track this season they were Able to come away with runner up honors in the District meet. Fairmont won the team title with 104 Points followed by Duler 78 Chester dubbed Byron 70 Mccod Junction 66 Odell 51 Exeter 47 Shickley 34 Meridian 28 Bruning 26 Milligan 16 and Friend four. Meridian had several boys place in the District meet but none qualified for state. In the girls division Sandy Parker Diller senior qualified for state by placing second in the 400-meter dash in a time of 65.5. Also placing for the lady eagles were Sheila Sasse 400-meter dash sixth 69.3 Parker 800-meter run fourth 2 44.4 and Cheryl Wolken discus fifth 85-1. Angie Bartels a Meridian freshman qualified for state in the 300-meter hurdles. She finished second in the District meet with a time of 50.5. Others placing for Meridian were Lisa Paul 200-meter dash sixth 29.6, and 400-Otetcr dash fifth 68.1 Rachel Gaston 1600-meter run fifth 6 25.9, and 3200-meter run fourth 13 54.7 Laura Van Wes ten 3200-meter run fifth 14 32.9 Tammi Scheer 100-meter hurdles fourth 18.6 Shelly Wahl shot put sixth 28-2 1600-meter relay Paul Gaston Angela Mussman and Holly Bachl fourth 4 52.3 and 3200-meter relay Gaston Bartels Mussman and Bachl third 11 55.7.
