There will be a discussion of the people involved geography of Gettysburg and military political situation of the time. A movie of Gettysburg will follow with discussion of Points made in the movie. Also greetings from former tops members living at a distance. A thank you was read from Blue Valley for food and paper gifts. The program by Betty entitled Quot eat drink and be merry and keep the pounds off too Quot was read. Dec. 27 was the last meeting of the year. Kops for the week was nire and Betty was runner up. Tops was . Best loser for december was Betty for kops and for tops. The Best losers for the Quarter was Marie for kops and for tops. Frieda had the program entitled Quot the real prize in the meeting closed by singing songs from the tops song Book. Luella Regnier hosted the dec. 19 Happy hour homemakers club at Griffey s for noon lunch. Eight members attended and told Christmas plans. After a Short business meeting a gift Exchange and door prizes were awarded to Muriel Hein and Esther Huber. Games were held and dessert was served. Dec. 15-16 Leroy and Pauline Niederklein travelled to Nebraska City and stayed at Arbor Day farm lied conference Center. A tour of the Center and a presentation of the planning and construction work was held. On Friday evening they took a tour by trolley car to see the Parade of lights. On saturday morning a breakfast Buffet was held in the dining area. Another trolley ride was taken to the Nebraska City historic Sites and shopping malls. Saturday afternoon the Niederkleine arrived in Kansas City to visit Pauline s Uncle and aunt Louis and Corrine Kautzman. Dinner that evening was at the Plaza Center then viewing of the lights was taken along with the Crown Center hallmark building with horse drawn Carriage rides. Sunday was spent at Independence mo., sightseeing with lunch at the Independence mall. Visiting Rose Almaguer dec. 28 were Byron Tibbs Sherry and Ryan of Peoria 111. Dennis Orth of Brule spent the weekend with his grandparents Gus and Olga Orth. Dec. 7-12 Dorothy Lewis of Daykin and Pauline Niederklein of Tobias departed by plane and flew to Phoenix Ariz. They stayed at Dorothy s sister Hope Kunkel s in Tucson Ariz. They went sightseeing to de Grazia s gallery in the Sun Adobe Art gallery Chapel and gardens and his burial plot in the Catalina Foothills the University of Arizona Arizona historical society museum the downtown area old town artisans with the restored Adobe complexes Maria Luisa s portrait of Christmas the a Mountain the historic old Pueblo the san Xavier Del Bac Mission Quot White Dove of the desert Quot located on the Tolono o Odham Indian reservation and the scenery of the Sonoran desert. Saturday evening was spent at the Home of John and Martha Kunkel s Home to celebrate Hope s 92nd birthday. On sunday in the dining room of Hope s retirement Home another birthday lunch was held. On monday a tour was taken into Nogales Mexico sightseeing. Flying into Lincoln tuesday evening the ladies were met at the Airport by Sam and Leroy. On Christmas Day Gary Shinn and family Everett and Marilyn Shinn and Terry Shinn joined other guests at the Melvin Bodtke Home for their dinner and gift Exchange in Beatrice. Or. And mrs. John Bavari and children Natasha Monica and Joshua of Edmond okla., were visitors in the Eugene Brown Home for the holidays. They visited in the Michael Brown Home in Omaha on Christmas Day. Natasha and her Cousin Payman Bavari took a plane from Omaha for Baltimore md., where they visited with or. And mrs. Sina Bavari and family. John Bavari returned Home to Edmond on dec. 26. Kathy and children Monica and Joshua stayed for a longer visit with her parents and sister Marilyn Brown. They returned Home on the following saturday.
