Treasurer vice chairman Progress As theme Awag meeting set april 24-25 program for Progress will be the theme of the 12th annual american women s activities in Germany Awag conference this year. The two Day event will take place april 24-25 in the general Parton hotel in Garmisch. Registration will be open through april 5, with All Awag women and members of German american and International clubs invited. Gen. James h. Polk commander in chief of Usa eur and seventh army will deliver the keynote address. As in former years the program will include a series of panels and workshops with advisory Council members Avail Able to give individual advice about club problems. The goal of the annual conferences is to encourage participation in american women s club work overseas. The sessions have been Well attended in the past with registration generally Topping the 500 Mark. The conference for 1968 will be headed by mrs. Ray mond a. Fitjar. Members of her Board include the women pictured Here plus mesdames Don Janutolo Secretary Ger Ald Goldstein member kits chairman Bernard Cohencious publicity and Elmer Frank in charge of displays. Mrs. George c. Me ghee wife of the american ambassador to Germany who rates the exchanges Between club women at these meetings most important is honorary chairman. I know of no other group where membership changes so frequently she noted in a previous address to Awag. This is Why these conferences Are so important.
