Not Only was the plan devel oped by employees rather than a consultant David Basinski administrative judge said it is the first pay scale to be adopted for the county s Domestic relations court employees. Until now pay increases were Given the at discretion of a according to Jack Mccrea court administrator. The plan also Drew Praise from the commissioners because it is within the court s f2.9 Mil lion budget approved by them last week. It guarantees employees a 3 percent annual increase for up to 10 years. The salary Steps generally Are based on an employee s years of service. There Are four different pay Scales for employees with and without College degrees. Salary Steps Range from for an entry level typist to a year for a probation supervisor with a College degree and 10 years of service. Some employees whose exist ing salaries Are in Between two Steps will have their pay Frozen until they reach the next highest Range the judge said. Those whose pay exceeds the highest step will negotiate their salaries with the judge. The raises become effective april 8 and Are retroactive to Jan. 1.
