All Sandy township units responded to the fire at the two Story Structure on s. Main St. Ext., some two Miles South of the Dubois City line near thunderbird re. The Call came in at 3 21 . When a passer by noticed the flames. Officials reported that the House was fully engulfed upon arrival of the firemen and that the fire had been burning some time before the Crews were alerted. It is unknown what caused the fire but the Blaze is listed As suspicious and the state police fire Marshall has been called in to investigate. Owner of the House or property was still unidentified at press time and it was unknown if the Home is insured. Firemen were at the scene two hours and 13 minutes and then West Sandy units were called out again at 6 18 . When the doused fire flared up again. Firemen were at the scene the second time for 26 minutes. Officials indicated that details would be released As the investigation into the fire not changed in election the results from the first Ward of Dubois did not change the outcome of the tuesday primary election races for Dubois Council and Dubois area school Board. The republicans have nominated Bill Rieg and Jack Peterson to be their candidates in the november election. Both Rieg and Peterson added to their margins when the 1st Ward figures were released yesterday. Rieg received 77 votes and Peterson 60, while de Bandyk with 56 was eliminated. The final totals show Rieg 633, Peterson 580 and Bandyk 539. Rieg and Peterson will be opposed by democratic nominees Edward Swearer and Lloyd Worley for the two Council seats up for election in november. The District a school director seat for the City of Dubois was a close struggle Between Stephen Mccully and Judith Buffone on the democratic ballot. The first w Ard count did t change anything As both received 59 votes. The final total shows Mccully with 244 votes for All five wards in Dubois and Buffone 231. The difference is Only 13 votes and could change when the official count is taken later. However the unofficial results have Mccully and Bill Clark re elected to the school Board As they placed one two in the voting on both tickets. This Means they would not have to run again in november since they apparently have Cap tured both parties nomination. The delay in the tabulation was caused by a machine malfunction in the 1st Ward which Wasny to cleared up until wednesday afternoon.
