Dublin News-Letter (Newspaper) - July 15, 1840, Dublin, Dublin Vol. IV, RICHARD REILLT, The Dublin News- Numb. Letter. From Tuesday July the 15th, to Saturday July the 19th, 1740. Since our laft arrived two Britifh Pacquets, which one Holland Mail. brought RUSSIA. Petersbourg, June rd. I HE Honourable Edward Finch, Efq; his Brittnnick Majefly's Minifter to this Court, had his Audience of her Czarifh Mijefly on the 8th Jnllant. The Czi-rina fent one of her own Caaches and Six, an Equerry, four Grooms on Horfeback, two on Foot, and two Footmen, to conduct Mr. Finch to Court, where he was received at the Coach Door by a Gentleman of the Court, the Guards refting on their Arms, and conduced by him thro' the Garden to the Czarina's Apartment, at the firll Door of which the Marfhll of the Court and two ChamberJains receiv'd and cenJucted him to the Anti-Chamber, where the Grind Marital Count Lewenwolde made him a Compliment from the Czarina; after which Mi. Finch was introduced by the Grand Marfhai to her Czarifh Majelly, who was feated on a Throne, the Duke of Courland as Grand Chamberlain on the Right Hand, and the Prince of H^ffe Homhaurg on the Left, the Ladies of the Court, all the Generals, &c. being pre-ftnt. Mr. Finch having made his Compliment to the Czirina, was conducted to an Au"lience of" the Princefs Antic and the Princcfs Elizabeth, and having pid his Compliment to them, as he alio did to the Prince of Brunfwkk, he was conducted home in the Czarina's Coach. In the Afternoon of the fame Day, he had alfo hi.� Audiences of the Dutchefs of Courland and the young Princcfs, the Hereditary Prince dining abroad at hii Uncles with the Turkifh Seraskier and Ag�, who arc returning home. To thefe Audiences Mr. Finch was conducted in the Duke of Courland'j Ceflch with a Pair of Horfes, attended by two Grooms and two Footmen. At Night there was a Drawing Room At Court, where Mr. Finch had the Honour to pity at Cards with the Princefs Anne, another Lady, and General Botta, who made up the Party. General Keith arrived hese hi\ Night, and went to nuke bis Court this Morning to her Czar jib. Ma/efly, who received him very gracioufly, and made him a Pre fent of a Sword, the Hilt of which was fct with Diamonds, and a Gold Medal. L E Petersburg, June 28. As foon as the Affair of M. Wolimki is over, the Emprefs will proceed to fettIt the Succeffion to the Crown in favour of the Princefs Anne of Mfcklembourg. The Regency being informed of the Meaiures t.->ken to decoy the Jews from this City, has publifh'd a Decree whereby they declare, that fuch as retire from hence fliall be liable to tie Forfeiture of their Goods and Chatties. It is given out here, that the King of France will bay the Ifland of Corfica of the RepubJick of Genoa, and then give it to the Great Duke of Tufcany in Exchange for the County of Falckrnftein, and fome other Territories fituated on the Confines.of Lorrain. We hear that the Princefs Confort to Prince William, Stadtholcierof Hefle-Caf-fel, died the 21ft paft, but that her Demife was ke; t fecret that it might not interrupt Princefs Mary's Pub-lick Entry, and the Rejoicings on account of her Marriage with Prince Frederick, Son to the decea'ed, who had lived fome Years feperate in her voluntary Retirement. She was of the Home of Saxe Zeits, Daughter of Duke Maurice and MaryAmel.j, who was jDaughter to Frederick William Magnus, Eec-tor of Brandenburg, born the 20th of March, 1691, and married September 28, 1717. of which Marrnge were born Prince Frederick, Auguft 14. 1720, and .1 Princets namii Mar/ Amelia tue 7th of July, 17 21. The Queen finding herfelf frequently indifpes'd, the Phyficians have prefcrib'd her the ufe of the Bath as abfolutely neceilary. The Court has difpach'd an Advice-Ship from Cadiz, with fecret Orders to th� Governors ol the principal Provinces in New Spain. It's reported that the freqaent Conferences between the Count de la Marck and the Marquis de Villarias, regard not only the Conclufion, of a Treaty of Commerce, but alfo the Convention by which the Subjects of France are to furniih the Spanifh Settlements with Negroes; in all Appearance a Compny of Merchant! of Nantes or St. Malo will undertake, this Commerce, which brcught the Eng- ;
