A report by the inter Agency committee on product information had recommended to president Nixon that the proposed order provide that a fall government Brand name data evaluated by testing be it added however that a safeguards Are necessary to assure usefulness to Consumers and fairness to the proposed executive order is not explicit on whether information will be made Public by Brand name. It leaves this and other decisions in the hands of mrs. Knauer the presidents special assistant for consumer affairs and her # committee. The inter Agency committee report does suggest that a lists of firms whose past been less than satisfactory because of delivery Quality or Cost considerations would be of Little value to Consumers. It added however that certain reports on products should it be disclosed when they affect health and safety. Adverse reactions to government procured drugs for example should be made Public the report said.
