WHEREAS by an Ad of Parliament, made in the Seventh Year of die Reign of his late Majefty King Ge;rpe, intitled an Aft to prefeive and encourage the Woollen and Sil.'-c Manufactures of this Kingdom, and fur more errV-tfual employing the Poor, by prohibiting theUic andV^e.\r ot'al! printed, painted, ftain'd, or dy'i Callicoes, in Apparel, Hou/hold-Stuff, or otlienvif.:, after the z;th of December, 172:, (except as therein is excepted) It is (among ether Thing?) enacted, that no Perfon fhall ufe or wear in Great Britain, in ?.ny Garment or Appaicl what-foever, any printed, painted, ftain'd, or dy'd Callico, under the Penalty of forfeiting to the Informer the Sum of Five Pounds, and to be levied and payable asthcreby directed ; and that if any Mercer, Draper, Upholder, or any other Perfon or Perfons, mould fell, utter, or expofe to Sale, any printed, painted, ftain'd, -or dy'd Callico 5 or any Bed, Chair, Culhion, Window-Curtain, or other Houlhold Stuff or Fumiture�whatfoever, made up or mixed with fuch Callico, unlets far Exportation thereof, and unlefs the fame ihall be cleared outward, accordingly as is ufual in Cafe of Sale for Exportation j he or they fhould for every fuch Offence, forfeit and pay the Sum of, twenty Pounds, to be recover'd as thereby directed: And that no Perfcn'or Perfons, fliould ufe or wear in Great Britain, in or about any Bed, Chair, Cufhion, Window-Curtain, or any other fort o/HoufhoId Stun or Furniture, any fuch Callicos, upon the Forfeiture of the Sum of twenty Pounds, to tie recover'd as is thereby alfo 'directed'.
