By teaching women about the Community and themselves Ucli provides them the knowledge and tools to affect change and build Community while developing their own personal leadership skills a according to Susan Saksa executive director of leadership pikes Peak. Targeting women of modest Means who May have overcome hurdles of Community dependence and who have an interest in learning More about their Community Ucli is a free program that educates and empowers women of diverse backgrounds to develop a deeper awareness of their potential to make a difference and become productive contributors to their Community. Registration deadline for december act test approaching College bound High school students can take the act College admission and placement exam on dec to the next National test Date. The deadline for postmark or online registration is nov 4. The late registration deadline is nov 17 an additional $18 fee is required for late registration. Students can get registration materials from their High school Counselor or they can Register online on acts student website . Students can also find the testing location closest to them on this website. The act is an achievement test that measures what students have Learned in school. The Basic act exam includes four parts English Reading mathematics and science. An optional writing test is also available. Some colleges require or recommend a writing score but Many do not. To find out if a writing score is required by particular colleges students May visit acts website for a sear Chable list or they May Check with the colleges directly. Act scores Are accepted by virtually All colleges across the nation. Some students perform better on the act than on other College Entrance exams because it is based on achievement not aptitude. When you look at who gets Hurt the most it is minorities. With a High dropout rate among hispanics Why would we condone the Effort to Hurt our schools. As the hispanic population grows hispanics must be prepared to take on More leadership roles in our Community state and nation. The value of higher education Overall is so important in this Era. We cannot compete globally without higher de. Higher de cannot be looked at As a luxury within the hispanic Community it is a must make it the Lith commandment if you will. When you examine the coalition of groups backing c amp d and just people in general that Are for it plus the fact that you have republicans and democrats working together it is amazing. When can you remember this Type of coalition in this state before one thing this state needs to realize is that too Many people in Colorado Are living on the Border of poverty.
