Or. Millicent Eidson Public health veterinarian with the health and environment department said two pet cats in Homes in the Barranca Mesa area of los Alamos were diagnosed As having plague. One cat was suffering from pneumonic plague and the other was presumed to have septic Mic plague she said. Both animals have recovered. Eidson said there now have been five cases of feline plague reported in new Mexico in 1986. Thirty cases of feline plague were confirmed in 1985.
