Wasson exhibited the grand Champion Market beef the grand Champion Market Lamb and the Champion crossbred Heifer. To top off his unusual performance he showed the Reserve Champion Market Lamb pen of three and placed second in the senior beef showmanship. His sister Susan exhibited the Reserve Champion Market Lamb and the Champion Market Lamb pen of three. Maria Pierschbache showed the Reserve Champion Market beef. Dennis Fogel exhibited the grand Champion Market hog wednesday morning. The Reserve Champion was shown by Jeff Greubel. Because of deadlines the sheep and Swine divisions results will be published in the Chariton Leader. Lisa Crawford exhibited the Champion Angus Heifer Mary Wright had the top Hereford Heifer and Kevin Luedtke showed the Champion shorthorn Heifer. Danny Lahart had the Reserve Angus Willy Black had the Reserve Hereford Richard run Nells showed the Reserve shorthorn and Brian Narber exhibited the Reserve crossbred Heifer. Jennifer Throckmorton exhibited the Champion Home raised calf. Quot it was a goal i set for myself several years ago but i never thought i would do it. Winning championships with everything i brought to the 4-h show has been one of my biggest dreams Quot he said with a smile ear to ear. This is the first time in seven years As a 4-h member that Dan exhibited a calf at the fair. He said he always wanted to show calves in years past but always exhibited sheep. This is his second year in succession that he showed the grand Champion Lamb. One Odd fact about the champions is that they were cared for within the Chariton City limits two blocks from his Home. Quot i raise sheep on a farm near Russell but the animals i m going to show Are housed in a Small lot within the Chariton City limits Quot he said. Winning is nothing new for Dan. He has won the senior showmanship contest two years in succession won the state sheep showmanship contest placed third at the sheep showmanship contest at a Sar Ben exhibited the Reserve Champion Lamb twice at the local show grand Champion pen of three twice and also Reserve Champion pen of three. Dan plans to attend Iowa state University and major in veterinary Medicine after he completes his senior year at Chariton Community High school. He is involved in basketball football track drama club and student Council in High school. Dan also attended the american legion boys state this summer. Day were Brenda Duckworth had the Champion Light horse and the Reserve went to Scott Sponsler. Duckworth also exhibited the Champion registered Quarter horse. Rachel Horton had the Champion Pony at Halter and Mary Horton showed the Reserve. The Champion Rabbit was exhibited by Ann Mitzner and Todd Miller showed the Reserve. Allan Thomas showed the Champion dog. Karla Loynachan was the top senior showman in the dog division and Mark Thomas won the Junior division. Scott Sponsler won the horsemanship travelling trophy and Rachel Horton won the Junior division. Brad Pollitt was the top beef showman in the senior division and Dan Wasson was second. Brenda Lazear won the Junior showmanship class and Jason Throckmorton was second. Chris Steinbach s calf won the rate of gain with a 3.7383 Pound per Day gain. Lori Greubel s calf won the second place honors with a 3.3953 rate of gain per Day.
