Cedar Rapids Gazette (Newspaper) - September 15, 1974, Cedar Rapids, Iowa Revised Schedules for 3 Library Story Hours Pre-school story hours at the Cedar Rapids public Ii-brary and at the Edgewood and Kenwood branches will get underway this week with a revised schedule. The primary change will be in the downtown program which will be conducted in the First Presbyterian church In order to ease the space problem in the main library, the board of trustees voted to convert the auditorium, where the story hours were held •previously, into a stack storage area The move was dictated by the fact that new stacks already had been added wherever possible in other areas of the library and the basement storage area was at capacity. Library Director Thomas Carney said. He also pointed out that no other room in the library is large enough «.o accomodate the story hour program. Any attempt to use the children’s room would have required Dr. Manville To Head Fund Unit C.I. Rice, 1974 United Way campaign chairman, has announced the appointment of Dr James C.
