Heraldry had its origin in the ancient world and flourished during the Middle Ages. In Early times there were no postal Telephone or Telegraph systems. The rulers had messengers known As heralds to communicate with Ether rulers. The Herald corresponded to the ambassador of modern times. The King s heralds were held in High regard and a Symbol on the message identified the sender. These emblems represented beats pea Cocks and eagles and Many kinds of planets. There was much duplication and confusion about these sym Bols so Kings in various countries appointed men called heralds to supervise the coat of arms. In the late 1400s, the English government set up the Herald s College to Register and direct the use of Coats of arms. In 1782, the United states adopted a coat of arms displaying the american Eagle bearing on its Chest a shield with 13 stripes and 13 stars holding a scroll in its beak with the words e pluribus unum Jane Miller of Prairie Village Kansas wins a prize for this question.
