Stelle added that the grand jury probably will meet again later in the week possibly thursday or Friday. He said the meeting Date will depend on when special judge Earl m. Dowd sets the continued William c. Brown indictment dismissal hearing. That hearings first portion was conducted thursday afternoon in Clay circuit court. Dowd adjourned the session before its completion in order to research certain Legal questions raised at the hearing. Stelle said he had not heard from Dowd on when the next hearing Date would be. He said however a tentative Date was set for Friday. Dowd was on the Bench in Parke circuit court when the times tried to reach him for comment this morning. City attorney Browne a counsel William Smock Terre haute filed a motion to dismiss Browne a indictment june 20 and filed a supplemental dismissal motion june 29. Brown who also serves the county As Clay Community schools attorney and As a sheriffs Merit Board member is indicted for influencing or intimidating a grand jury witness and impeding a grand jury investigation. The grand jury a fire investigation concerns the Jan. 4 Blaze that gutted the former Mary a diner site and partially destroyed Bedwell tire co. Prosecutor we Allace Grosbach is assisting the six member panel on the fire probe. Grosbach said last week that the investigation is continuing because certain questions concerning the fire have not been answered. The former Mary a diner site was to be a greek restaurant owned by mrs. Lana Pechi. Her husband John was to be the manager of the food establishment. Eddie Dickison is the proprietor of Bedwell tire co. The fire investigation was turned Over to state fire marshal Ralph Foster by brazils fire department shortly after the fire. Foster did not reach a decision on the Blaze and it was presented to the grand jury for their consideration several weeks ago. The grand jury a probe into City fiscal matters is stretching into its sixth month since being Impan eled by Clay circuit judge Robert Neal in february. At that time Neal extended the six member panels term indefinitely and instructed the group to consider any other matters that might be presented to them during the grand jury a duration eight indictments have been returned a six for matters unrelated to the City probe. Shooting death probed a 30-year-old Cincinnati Ohio Nan was found dead in his Villa Dotel room after an apparent Micides sunday evening Accord no to Clay county sheriff Wayne Ucas. Dead is William Glen Jones of a 25 Caliper handgun wound to the Lead. No official ruling has been announced on the death. Vigo Bounty Coroner or. D. M. Ferguson is investigating the incident. A spokesman at Ferguson Sterre haute office this morning said a ruling will be made after further investigation. Ferguson is handling the Case because Jones died at Terre Hautess Union Hospital. A Terre haute state police Post spokesman said that according to reports Jones brother in Law was in the Motel room with him at the time of the shooting. The Many a name was not released. The spokesman also said the gun was found on Jones bed. Neal was not at the courthouse this morning for comment on when he would select the three member panel. Frey and Brown will each strike one name from the list and the remaining judge is appoint i d. Neal issued a temporary restraining order july 1 stopping last wednesdays Public hearing concerning the lease agreement Between Clay Community school corporation and the school project building corporation. Neal set a hearing on the injunction for july 8, hut then vacated that hearing after granting a Brown motion for a special judge.
