The Market closed mixed even though the Dow Jones average of 30 Industrial stocks gained 2.05 Points to 755.61. The broader based new York Stock Exchange Index of some 1,200 common stocks dipped .06 Points to 45.28. Of the 1,595 issues traded on the big Board Only 532 advanced while 748 declined. Rig Board volume was 10.53 million shares up from thursdays turnover of 10.45 million shares. New yearly highs were reached by 15 stocks on the big Board while 27 touched new lows. The associated press 60-Stock average was unchanged at 256.5, with industrials up .3, rails off .5 and utilities up .5. There were 72 big blocks of 10,000 shares or More compared to 64 on thursday. The biggest was 282,600 shares of International paper at 33 off %. Oils and steels were up. Rails and utilities were off. Motors rubber issues and aircraft were unchanged.
