The members of the Dodd City Volunteer fire department Are going to turn time Back a few years Friday night. They Are sponsoring an old fashioned Box supper in the Dodd City school cafeteria beginning at 7 . Boy Asbury says everyone is invited to attend the Box supper and bring a Box with them with enough food to feed the members of their own family and extra boxes to be sold also will be appreciated. Proceeds will go to help the firemen with their new building. At one time Box suppers were the favorite Means Rural schools and other organizations had to raise funds for their work. We be seen some pretty High priced boxes at Box suppers and recall seeing one Box go for $75 after the husband of the woman who prepared the Box made the remark that no one else was going to eat with his wife. No one else ate with his wife but his friends really made him pay for the privilege of eating with his wife at the event. She rather pointedly reminded him of the Many things that $75 would have bought and also of the Many boxes that sold at lower prices. A few years bade at Gober a Young boy about 11 years old opened the bidding for each Box at $1.25. An auctioneer finally sold him a Box at that Price and the youngster had to get the loan of 20 cents from his dad to buy the drinks for his eating partner and himself.
