A few of Lis have worked hard and Long have Laboured and pecked our Tarp writers to the Best of our ability under the circumstances. Everyone knows that Quot circumstances Quot Are not the same in summer school As during the regular term things Are managed on a different basis a different attitude prevails thru out the student body on the Campus. admit that the paper has t been what it might have been Only ask you to a Little lenient in judging our outbursts and bide with us a wee bit As you peruse our efforts of the last two months. During our initial turn at the wheel of the G. C. D. formed a few opinions on various matters which believe the University might at least slightly benefited. Of course May wrong not thrust All other opinions aside in the belief that Only ours can right. There Are Many ideas in this world on like subjects different ideas a therefore it is impossible for All to right. But it is our Contention that it is better to have a wrong idea than to have none at All the latter a situation into which fear too Many of us have fallen. First would suggest More leniency a Freer reign in the editorial and news policy of the daily student. It is a thoroughly established and Well known fact that Indiana s College paper cannot say what it pleases either in its editorial or news columns and quite often even legitimate news must order suppressed. The daily student As it is today is nothing More nor less than a circulating billboard with orders to boost everything connected with the University to the skies whether it deserves a boost or not. Someone is afraid afraid that anything slightly revolutionary when published in the student will carried to the readers out Over the state and adjoining states producing a detrimental effect upon those who might interested in the University. More actual example of this situation can had than the statement of one of the higher officials in athletic man3tgitnt when the Bas Bitu team started to Japan. gave orders that All publicity Mast censored a faculty representative and Fini with the statement that Quot of the team is a consistent loser must not have any publicity at your ideas on the subject in Harmony with those ? ours Are not Are not sensationalist neither advocates of yellow journalism but believe that if the occasional outbursts among the students were allowed to expressed thru the press later to Given a hearing before legitimate Antii crities that there would no detriment to the University but an everlasting Good. also believe that there should a closer relationship Between the faculty and the Stid ident body is have been taken along this a with the formation of the aeon society and if a Ven time will to doubt accomplish the desired result. An athletic upheaval is now in Progress.
