He gives in his usual forcible and Clear style a description of it As it now appears and also a Brief but graphic narration of the events connected with it. It will be read with interest. The sunday lecture of october 27 was delivered by professor Jenks of the department of economics. This was professor Jenks first lecture to the students Here and he was complimented with a Large and appreciative audience. The lecture was delivered in a free forcible manner and was both instructive and entertaining. We Are not prone to criticise but we see things in the class room occasionally that provoke us to say some thing. Some students seem to have the idea that they Are Here to instruct rather than to be instructed and persist in monopolizing the entire time of the recitation in arguing with the professor in Chaie Over some Small Point it is apparent to the remainder of the class that this is not carried on to develop any new ideas but rather for the purpose of personal display. Such students had better either pay double tuition for this privilege or else employ a private instructor. At the state oratorical contest last May the association extended to i. U. An invitation to again take her place in the lists. When i. U. Belonged to the association she made a record in oratory that has not been surpassed by any of the colleges in the state.
