In addition to food music and speakers the River fest will feature an auction the highlight of which is a trip to Myrtle Beach. Folger received its watershed of the year award during the 17th annual watershed Celebration Day at Hawks nest state Park on june 6. The event was sponsored by the West Virginia watershed network a group of state Federal and nonprofit resource providers who work closely with Volunteer organizations. This year the network honoured 17 watershed groups for their hard work and commitment to protect and restore streams and to educate their communities about the importance of watershed Protection. In addition to Folger watershed associations honoured included friends of Milam Creek in Wyoming county Morris Creek watershed association in Fayette county and Piney Creek watershed association in Raleigh county. Volunteers attending this years awards ceremony and Celebration were afforded the Opportunity to visit Morris Creek watershed where they Learned How the local organization is restoring the Creek and engaging in a variety of innovative projects.
