Superintendent Wheaton in the six years that he has had the supervision of the Athens schools has been efficient faithful and conscientious in the discharge of the exacting duties of his responsible position. He is fortunate in the administration of the schools in having a very capable corps of teachers. In visiting four of the primary rooms last Friday those taught respectively by misses Maxwell Mccune Herrold and Wilson we were especially impressed with the thoroughness of the teach ing and the modern methods of instruction which emplo3red. From the first school year the children taught to think for themselves and this in itself is a Liberal education. In the four rooms which we visited the Superior discipline and Bright ready responses of pupils in recitations Aud other exercises were evidences of thorough teaching and Good discipline creditable both to the teachers and the pupils. We assured that in All the rooms the teaching is thorough and effective most of the teachers having had considerable experience.
