Peter Carrigan, who was arrested on Saturdaylast, upon the charge of setting fire teahouse which he had just vacated, on the Licking turnpike. about three miles from Newpo-t, underwent an examination, yesterday, before E quires Batts and Payne, resulting in his acquittal. It was proven that the house was not discovered to be on fire until two hours after Carrigan had left it, instead of fifteen minutes, as at first reported.Yesterday morning, while Mr. Thos, G, Gaylord wns coining to the city on the Alexandria turnpike. the horse attaohed to his buggy took fright and ran off, upsetting the vehicle and throwing Mr. Gaylord out, by which be was quite seriously injured. The aooident happened near Constant Brewery. ,
