Heads were Down but would raise again after the pain of the defeat subsided but this pain would last longer than most because it was the texans first loss in 14 outings in 1973, and because they had barely missed when a Victory Celebration was within reach. The texans filed into the dressing room at Waco a Baylor stadium after watching a trip to the state finals go fleeting off on the heels of John Tyler tight end Ronnie Lee. Lee had just caught the Only pass John Tyler had or would throw during the game and had caught it in the midst of the sturdy texan defense. It was a Quick hitter Over the Middle from lion quarterback Larry Hatfield. But safety Ronald Burns and Drew Perkins both missed shots at Lee who raced 79 Yards to end the texans title dreams. The texans were winning for All intents and purposes when Lee danced his Way to the to. The score was tied 7-7, after the texans had equalized a 7-0 Tyler halftime Lead in the third period. The texans marched 79 Yards in 14 plays for their Only to with quarterback Reuben Tomlin pacing the March in the air and scrambling five Yards for the to. With the to the texans not Only tied the score but tied the penetration count. That left first Downs As the deciding Factor and the texans were Way out ahead there 13-5. He and the rest of his coaching staff were As disappointed As their Young charges. A we sure wanted to win but i guess it just Wasny to in the cards a he continued. A they Are certainly the Best team we be Hyden was around of his clubs Effort though. A i was really proud of the Way the kids came Back in the second he said. Things had gone from Bright to dim in a matter of moments in the first half too. To begin with the texans stopped a lion scoring threat in the first period when lion tailback John Campbell fumbled into the hands of linebacker Derek Mott after being jolted at the line of scrimmage. Then Midway through the second period Ronald Burns returned a John Tyler punt to the lion one. 68 Yards and by Frank Trombley Tarrant county Bureau the proposed Tarrant county fire department Complex continues to be a Bone of Contention As commissioners begin to look at the 1974 budget county commissioners nailed Down several pertinent facts As architectural consultant Burr Reavis appeared before them to ask that the fee owed him under contract for in connection with the office garage Santa letter deadline is thursday the deadline for those wishing to Send letters to Santa Claus will be thursday. Also included would be a garage 50 by 125 feet with the first 50 feet to connect the t o buildings while the remaining 75 feet would be attached to one end. Many Felt he had scored but not the officials. A Fumble on the first play at the one erased any texan scoring Opportunity though and just two plays later Campbell churned 85 Yards for John Tyler a first to. A i done to know whether Burns scored of Hayden said. A it was on our Side of the Field and i see it in the Corner. We had it Down there though and could have when asked if this was the hardest loss he had Ever suffered Hyden pondered and replied a i guess you could say it is but they Are All hard. But this one is especially Tough because of the togetherness on this senior linebacker Lewis Hutson described the togetherness. A the love of each Indi Vidigal on this team for his teammates has been just great All season. It brought us this the texans were together in disappointment this time though and their frustrations were voiced by senior defensive tackle Dino Urquidi.
