Saturday morning Justice of the peace Thornby of Emmons made out a complaint before Justice Clements against chas., thos., and David Roach and John Doe charging them with creating a riot at Emmons the night before. Warrants were issued and Deputy Ellickson went to Emmons monday after the offenders but was unable to locate them although one of them was traced As far As Alden and two of them Are known to in Iowa. The facts of the Case seem to As follows at a dance held recently at Emmons John Roach became boisterous and made such a disturbance that Justice Thornby ejected him from the Hall. Roach swore vengeance and threatened to return and a paint the town last Friday he did return accompanied his two Brothers and John Doe and started to carry out his threat. The men who were intoxicated tried to pick a quarrel but failing in this they raised a disturbance which resulted in the breaking of the windows in the front of j. J. Egland a billiard Hall. This Hall is across the line on the Iowa Side but the a a riot took place in the Street which is on the Minnesota Side. Gilbert restraining the City from further sewer or waterworks improvements was discussed and it was the prevailing sentiment that the injunction was unreasonable Aud that efforts should used to prevent it being put in Force. Wohlhuter offered a Pool and billiard table ordinance which was essentially the same As voted on at a previous meeting it was Laid Over to the next meeting.
