That whippet racing is growing in popularity is shown by the number of fresh owners who Are entering the ranks and when conducted in the manner one sees at Brompton and Prospect there is every reason to believe that this fascinating pastime will occupy a higher place in the world of sport than it has done in the past. The Excelsior club which conducts the racing at Brompton has installed electric lights Over the racing track and several evening meetings have been held but arrangements have been made to add additional lights Over the 150 Yards stretch. Unlike _ most outdoor pastimes whippet racing is not limited to one particular season for the tracks Are so prepared that the speedy animals can race throughout the year and no doubt they provide a healthy and exciting sport for a lot of people. A suggestion has been thrown out that a few whippet races might occasionally be arranged at our Royal shows As there Are thousands of people who have not witnessed a race where these miniature greyhounds provide the excitement and we Are living in an age when the introduction of novelties at our big shows is essential.
