David Boren announced saturday consideration is being Given to the use of the Sulphur Rural skills Center which is being Dis continued for a women s correctional facility. The facility formerly a residential training Center would House approximately 120 women Boren said. If used the facility would be remodeler to make it and the grounds around it he said. No male inmates would be sent to the Center Only Boren said the suggestion came from Sev eral people in the Sulphur Community and from some members of the state legislature. The suggestion will be Given very careful study before a final decision is he said. Those who proposed the suggestion believe it will provide a Good payroll for the Sulphur area and should not constitute any threat to citizens of the governor Hopes judge will leave prison system alone Oklahoma City a gov. David Boren says he Hopes a Federal judge will re Frain from further involve ment in the Oklahoma prison system following an announcement that an extra million will be spent to relieve overcrowding at the state s two largest prisons. Boren said Friday that million in Federal Public works funds would allow the state to step up a plan to add inmate Beds before a gust of next year. The accelerated program will provice 620 inmate spaces in addition to previously announced plans to add spaces by building new prisons at Hominy and Lexington and the proposed Oklahoma City Community treatment Center. . Haizlip developed pneumonia.
