Rev W A Ross Successor to Rev W E Bobbitt back to the early historical days of Lord George Calvert an estate known to be worth upwards of three millions of dollars may become the property of Mrs R T Spence come y Esparto woman and her sister Mrs E L Martin of Coif ax both of erate financial means Hopes apparently well founded that the Yolo and Placer men will be the chief beneficiaries from an enormous Maryland estate came at Christmas time and hence brought great happi- ness to the Spence household in the little western Yolo city and the Martin family located in a picturesque spot in the hills about Coif ax The estate to which the two confidently expect to fall heir consists chiefly of valuable city property ings in and about city of more Maryland Recalling History To trace the origin of the estate it is necessary to turn back the pages of history three hundred and four or to be exact to the year 1580 George Calvert the first Baron Baltimore was born and who subsequently disinherited his sons for 99 years after he had become famous as a fighter Mrs Spence and Mrs Martin are descendants of the Calverts Their lineage can be traced without difficulty as far back as Lord
