this morning where both made speeches in the Inter est of the Democracy Wednesday even Both are in an excellent humor and confident of the success of the Democratic ticket state and county Both are especially elated with the situation in Sacramento From all they could see and hear Lane will poll a tremendous vote there and Theodore Bell seems to own Sacramento The enthusiasm for him is something mar velous Sacramento Democrats be lieve that both Bell and Lane will be elected Mr Huston learned of a heavy bet that was posted in Sacra mento Wednesday night with a lican on the Lane end of it The Democratic county candidates held a meeting in Washington Wed evening It was so large thaf it was necessary to hold it in tjie open air A notable thing about it was that there were more men In the the campaign progresses and his humorous sallies kept the audience In a roar of laughter by the county candidates received and all of them are greatly pleased and much encouraged with the sentiment about Washington A C Huston closed the meeting with a rousing speech for the slate and dis nominees which stirred the to a high pitch The candidates will have a meeting at this evening at Winters Friday evening and in Woodland Sat evening AFTERNOON PARTY Mrs H E Entertains a Large Number of Friends Mrs II E Coil entertained a large number of her lady friends at the Coil residence northeast of Woodland Wednesday afternoon The weather was delightful and all the conditions were favorable for nn enjoyable parly The interior oft the Coll residence with good taste and was very beautiful The
