TEN years ago, a group of friends held a holiday craft sale at the Transcona Country Club, and welcomed 500 people. Last fall, Scattered Seeds Inc. welcomed over 12,000 people to their fall show and sale, and now they are preparing for their best event ever. The Scattered Seeds Inc. 10th Anniversary Celebration and 2005 Christmas Craft Show and Sale is set for Oct. 21 to 23, at Assiniboia Downs. �We are so proud of our artisans and crafters,� says Shelley Molitowsky, who, along with fellow Scattered Seeds members Lynda Katchnoski, Eileen Lubimiv, and Debbie Schwartz, planted the seed which has grown up 10 years later. �Our show inspires holiday planning, gift giv�ing, and to help make the holidays even more special.� A number of demonstrations will offer tips on every�thing from making your home look its best, to preparing holiday feasts, and more. Here�s the schedule: Friday: . 11 a.m. � A new stone coating called Flex Rock from Rock Granite product demo. . noon � Kim Buus from Linarden�s Interiors explores colour . 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. � Pine Ridge Hollow�s Dynamic Duo: Angie the chef and Cyndy the decorator on holiday entertaining the easy way. . 2 p.m. � Kevin McKay demonstrates glass blowing and sculpting. . 3 p.m. � Selkirk Home Hardware presents a new design finish: Venetian plaster. . Selkirk Home Hardware presents five new custom colours in honour of Scattered Seeds� 10th anniversary. Saturday: . 11 a.m. � Chef Feeke from Benjamin�s makes amazing 
appetizers and a children�s gingerbread house. 
. 1:30 p.m. � Flex Rock 
. 2:30 � Chef Angie and decorator Cyndi do holiday 
entertaining the easy way. 
. 3:30 p.m. � Orchids by Kimberly shows you how to 
grow them in your home. 
. 4:30 p.m. � Venetian Plaster 
. 6:30 p.m. � Home Hardware custom colours. 
. 7:30 p.m. � Kevin McKay blows and sculpts glass. 
Sunday: . 1 p.m. � Venetian plaster. 
. 2 p.m. � Learn to grow orchids in your home. 
. 3 p.m. � Glass blowing and sculpting. 
To set the mood, a number of musical performers will accompany the event. Listen for the Alfred Dahl String Quartet, Cindi Cain and Al Hudon, Larry and Sharlene Yarish, and the Voice Shak Singing Club (Cindi Cain�s voice students) performing Christmas carols. This year�s show includes 148 booths, and a total of 160 artists and crafters. New this year are names includ�ing: Orchids by Kimberly, Splish Splash bath products, Michaud Toys (wooden game boards), Krazy Kitty (cat accessories), Premala�s Spices (exotic Indian spices and sauces), Spoons and Things (handmade wooden utensils), Unique Art Dolls by Eric Cowan, LifeWords (quotes and signs for your d�cor), and Rock Flocks (rock and art sculp�ture). Scattered Seeds draws quite the crowd. and artisans who make folk art, stained glass, jewellery, bears, candles, pottery, watercolour art, willow furniture, potpourri, dried flowers, puzzles, and more. �Most of this work is assembled by hand, and created with lots of love and care,� says Molitowsky. �Our artisans take a good kind of pride in what they do. And you can not only buy their work, but you also have the opportunity to meet them, too.� Then there is the food. People can buy all their holiday baking and goodies here. There is a tasty selection of everything from baking to pickles, jams, preserves, dips, fudge, popcorn and more. �We are always amazed,� says Molitowsky. �We invite everyone to come and celebrate with us. This year, we�ll be giving away door prizes every hour.� Whether your tastes are contemporary, folk artsy, rus�tic country, or artsy, there will be something for every�one, says Molitowsky. Scattered Seeds Inc. continues its support of the com�munity by holding a coat check in support of Crisis Preg�nancy Centre at this event. They also give Guardian Angels Breast Cancer Benefit a booth to sell their raffle tickets. And, for the first time this year, the Scattered Seeds gals are reaching out to people outside of their immediate community. They are providing a booth that will sell items created in Kampala, Uganda, to the benefit of people liv�ing with HIV and AIDS and their families in that com�munity. The booth is an initiative of a group of North American and Ugandan doctors offering HIV and AIDS treatment programs there. Winnipeg resident Myrna Ronald organized the booth. It will feature batik art by Fred Kyendikuwa, and dolls and mobiles created by vil�lage women in Kampala. Money raised will help the artists and their families, and will also go to the Ugandan Orphan�age Fund. �What a privilege to be a part of that,� says Molitowsky. �We feel blessed to be able to help.� The Scattered Seeds Inc. 10th Anniversary Celebration and 2005 Christmas Craft Show and Sale is set for Oct. 21 to 23, at Assiniboia Downs, 3975 Portage Ave. Hours are as follows: Friday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Daily admission is $4.99 for adults, and free for kids ages 14 and under The Saturday night special means
