told that I had mantle cell I could have started treatment immediately but I was also told there was no known cure for mantle cell In the life expectancy of someone diagnosed with this disease was two to three 1 was also told that I could only have three suc rounds of chemotherapy treatments to try to treat to start treatment early would not be in my Because I was diagnosed so my doc tors said I had the choice to wait to begin treatment because early treatment of this type of cancer was not recognized as my preferred way was to wait and My oncologist at Strong watched and waited with Every three starting in the fall of I had a CAT scan and an endoscopy and a We all continued to wait and watch until the Sunday after Thanksgiving in was in Rochester for my regular three month checkup and had blood work done on that On my an electrophysiologist with Strongs Cardiology saw the results orthe blood which showed that my white blood cell count was dangerously That meant that the cancer was taking My daughter arranged for me to have a CAT scan Monday Tuesday I was in my oncologists He said that my spleen was very enlarged and that several lymph nodes were growing and my bone marrow was 90 to 95 in Mantle cell lymphoma is ba a blood Normally it affects the lymph nodes and the lymph In my it started out in my Thats not abnormal but rather fairly It is a rare Only 3 of all lymphomas are mantle I dont know how much of my blood was drawn or how many pies and CAT scans I had done during that but those two years gave my Sonee and me a to learn a great deal about mantle cell lymphoma
