resident of this city died at the Municipal hospital Tuesday morning at four o'clock aged 79 years Two months ago he suffered tation of his right leg following a long period of Illness and suffering caused originally by a fall which In- jured his knee The operation was performed May 28 and thereafter for some time ho showed marked im- provement and ft was thought he would recover his health but his did not hold out and he grew weaker from day to day until the end came He had not known what it was to he sick until a year ago Traveled for Two Firms Mr a traveling man for nearly fifty years and during all that time he traveled for only two firms Roundy Peckham and George D Robinson both wholesale grocery firms In Milwaukee His fine ter staunch integrity and thorough reliability were recognized by all whom he came in contact He was born on the farm of his parents Mr and Mrs R W Carleton In North Milwaukee then Granville in 1847 There in early years he at- tended the district shcool and later graduated from Wayland academy Beaver and from the kee Spencerian college HQ taught school for a short time Deacon Baptist Church Mr Carleton was a true Christian an active member and
