Regents has given the green light to plan a roof raising at the Now that the regents have signed on the University of Northern Iowa will work with Light Structures Design Consultants of New York to iron out plans for replacement of the dome roof The current proposal calls for a million metal and fabric design The new roof would be self supporting eliminating the need for fans to keep the roof inflated An emergency patch job has kept the Dome open since a December 1994 snowstorm that deflated the roof In September 1995 the regents authorized to pay for the repairs John Conner UNI vice president for finance said the university will negotiate with Light Structures to act as project engineer and develop proposals for the roof replacement Our aim and our target will be to come back to you with a plan and architecture at the February Conner told the regents The project will be funded through insurance surplus funds and fieldhouse revenue bonds The university is still negotiating with its insurer over the settlement from the 1994 deflation The insurance policy is good for up to million with a deductible If UNI goes ahead with the metal and fabric replacement option con- COSMILLO Courier State Editor NEW HAMPTON Sara Lee Bakery's future is looking brighter thanks to a little help from the state county and city The Iowa Department of Economic Development Board has approved a forgivable loan from the Community Economic Betterment Account to assist Sara Lee in a million equipment investment for a new pie line The money gives the plant an advantage over another Sara Lee facility in North Carolina for the expansion It will retain 577 jobs and create 18 new jobs at an average wage of an hour I truly believe that this is what I would consider a shot in the said Jeff Brasch Sara Lee director of operations Not only for the ees but for New Hampton and asaw County What it really does is it gives us needed case volume The more cases of the more jobs you can
