Ohio Saturday October 14 1972 10 Cents Zip Code 45891 Cougars Bow To Redskins By CLAIR BUECHNER Sports Writer WAPAKONETA Whoever said Friday the 13th is unlucky proved the theory again last night at least as far as the Van Wert Cougars are con- cerned The Cougars playing a Western Buckeye League contest suffered a loss to the Wapakoneta It was homecoming for the Redskins and they seemed to enjoy pushing the Cougars all over the field They garnered a total of 431 yards 241 on the ground and 191 in the air while Van Wert was only able to make a paltry 143 total yards 79 rushing and 64 It was the second worst defeat a Van Wert team has taken since 1963 when Shawnee handed the Cougars a loss Last season Kenton whipped Van Wert The Cougars are now in Western Buckeye League play and overall the Redskins are in league play K T THE COUGARS took the opening kickoff and fumbled three later with the Redskins recovering on their 47 yard line Five minutes later John Schneider halfback went off tackle for 14 yards and a touchdown with An end sweep was good for the extra points and the Redskins took a lead with only 12 minutes gone VAN WERT STARTED to move the pigskin early in the second persons have been ar in connection with an at empt to extort a large amount of money from entertainer Johnny Carson police said today Police said threats against Jarson and his family were made in a
