Program to pair fashion, virtue  By B«tty TaykK  The Herald-Zeitung  A seven-month modeling, fashion and etiquette )rogram will take )lace beginning in Novemner as part of a program offered through Pure Fashion, an international, faith-based program affiliatefi with the Catholic Mission Network.  l^ori Davis, who taught at a ('atholic sc hool in San Antonio and owned a modeling agency for five v(‘ars, is the area director tor Pure Fashion and |)lans to hold the first session, an orientation, in the early part of November at Sts. P(*ter and Paul Catholic Churc h.  "Pure Fashion is about modeling, eti(|uette and tashion. But it's also a celebration of stv'le and virtue. That's what it's all about," said Davis. "Being modest is always in vogue."  The program, created for girls ages 10-18, will fo( us on one Saturday a month, ^'ginning with the orientation and continuing with a Mother/Daughter eti-r|uette program, a community projec t, a makeup/hair care/model shoot session, leadership, public speaking and ending with a rcnreat.  "The main goal is that we want to create confident leaders within our community," Davis said.  She also is looking to create a committee of about ! 0 to 1 S women who plan to enroll their daughters in the classes and can assist with the-overall program.  Pure Fasnion has been featurcnl on ABC's "Night-line," the Laura Ingraham Show and in USA Today. It has been described as a ('hristian c rusade for tc'c'tis  to dress in less f)rovoca-tive clothing. According to a Pure Fasnion flyer, the )rogram began in church casements in Chicago, Seattle and Atlanta in 1 999, when frustrated mothers and daughters stagc'd fashion shows featuring modest but stylish clothing. The Pure Fashion program encourages teen girls to live, behave and drc'ss in accordance with their dignity as children of C'lod, instcMci of falling [irey to unhealthy societal "norms."
