In the seven years that C'llenn Avriett, retired ('omal Ct)unty extension agent, has l^een working the Hay Show at the Comal County fiiir, this is a first. This year's show received all of four entries. "The lowest nuniber I've ever seen in the show is Avriett said. "And the highest numl)er was 46." He said the low number was directly related to this year's drought and resulting hay shcirtage. "Norma ly, we get st'veral entries of Bermuda grass, nut nobody cut it, because it didn't rain," he said. Hundreds of students in the New Braunfels and Comal ISOs will be participating in Friday morning's parade and afternoon events at Comal County Fairgrounds. Employees from both districts'will have a holiday. The offices of the City of New Braunfels and Comal County will be closed for the holiday.
