NBFD provided mutual aid assistance to the Lake Dunlap Volunteer Fire Depart ment, said New Braunfels Fire Department Capt. ftftrick O'Connell. He said though five outbuildings burned, as many as 10 homes were saved. NBFD arrived on scene about 3:15 p.m. in the 1500 block of Union Wine Road w ith five vehicles and 10 people, O'Connell said. The command chief from the Lake Dunlap department immediately put them to work dousing the flames, O'Connell said. Firefighters extinguished the blaze just about 5:30 p.m., he said. THROUGH YOUR EYES Crews had to return to the scene about 11-30 p.m. to put out some hot spots, O'Connell said, adding that NBFD personnel were on scene? until about 12.30 a.m. Monday, He said a volunteer firefighter was hurt and taken to the hospital, but any information about that firefighter or that firefighter's condition must come from the Lake Dunlap department. Messages left with the Lake Dunlap Volunteer Fire Department were not returned by presstime.
