With the evening's décor giving a nod to the posh French Rivera, the event center was transformed complete with candlelight, elaborate fresco drapings, bogainvillileas and several casino-style gaming tables for guests to enjoy. The evening's live auction event proved to be the gala's highlight. Headlined by a custom painting done by pediatric cancer patients at San Antonio's Christus Santa Rosa, the auction raised about $78,000, with $50,000 of that going to Comal County's Regional office in Austin, which provides funding for services locally and for other surrounding counties and the remaining $28,000 was given through a "directed gift" in an outpouring of support to the Comal County ACS office to be used specifically for help with the service of transportation for local cancer patients to and from their treatments. Headlining the sponsors of the event this year was Carter Healthcare, The Wiggins Companies, ValMark Chevrolet, Premier Dental, Anderson-Jenkins Signature Homes, Ltd., HighFLEX Development and Keller Periodontics.
