She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Ward Alexander in 1989. She would have been 95 years of age on March 17th. She is survived by one daughter, Charlotte Ann; two granddaughters, D'Ann and Kori Ann; three grandsons-in-law, Marcelo, Darrell and Scott; six great-grandchildren, Ashley, Jennifer, Megan, Damon, Michael and Heather and one great-great-granddaughter, Abigail. She is also sadly leaving behind her very dear friend of 65 years, Ernestine Guinn and many other friends both in New Braunfels and San Antonio. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 10th from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Doep-penschmidt Funeral Home in New Braunfels. Services will by held on Thursday, January 11th at 10 a.m. in the Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Wilburn Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at the Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the Eastside Baptist Church. Serving as pallbearers will be Marcelo Novari, Darrell Landers, Michael Landers, Scott Fowler, Orville Lee Guinn and Louis Valdez. She was born June 19, 1929 in Seguin, Texas to Marvin and Alma (Wininger) Sights. She married Luther Maynard who preceded her in death July 1982. Mrs. Maynard retired from Mission Valley Mills after 50 years of employment. Survivors include 1 daughter, Karen Kimbrow and husband Alan of Midland, Texas; three sisters, Sandra Matocha and Paula Darnall, both of New Braunfels, and Ruby Thayer of San Antonio; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy in 1975 and a sister, Betty Altherr. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday January 10, 2007 at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be given to the American Heart Association.
