Rapp shells out $800to help Crime Stoppers Precinct 4 Constable Shane Rapp could be expected to be pro-law enforcement. After all, that’s his job. But Thursday, he was honored for reaching into his wallet and spending nearly $800 to purchase software to help Comal County/New Braunfels Crime Stoppers purchase software that will make its tip line more effective. The software will be used by the Crime Stoppers answering service to log calls and ask the kinds of questions of anonymous callers that will lead to arrests and indictments — and to rewards for those who help. Crime Stoppers President, Teresa Nitschke, said Rapp’s help was important to the program. “In the midst of everyone trying to figure out how to pay for it, Shane said he’d buy it if Crime Stoppers paid for the hardware," Nitschke said. “We’d like to thank him for his dedication to our program." Rapp said helping out was easy. “Crime Stoppers is a great program, and its important to this community,” Rapp said. “Whenever we can do something to support it, I think we need to do it."
