Cox characterized the towns-people as a group that enjoyed having space to themselves but who would always help out a neighbor. “They were people who wanted an independent place to live and who would do anything for you but wouldn’t necessarily have coffee with you every morning,’’ Cox said. Cox said the entire town came together when a local backhoe worker and his two small daughters were evicted from their home by a trailer fire. The local Methodist church donated an old, substandard parsonage to the family, and the entire community pitched in to make Street residence. Davis passed out early Sunday. When his friends could not wake him up, he was taken to CTMC. The case was investigated by Officer Rich Mizanin, who responded to the call from the hospital, and continues under investigation by Detective Wade Parham of the SMPD’s Criminal Investigation Division. Police are awaiting autopsy and toxicology results for a determination of the cause of death. the place habitable. “Every denomination — Lutherans, Methodists and Catholics — chipped in and cleaned the whole place,” Cox said. “Then the church took up a collection and gave him $300.” Cox said immediately after the family’s insurer reimbursed them for their losses, they gave the money back to the church. "The people of Garden Ridge were the kind of people who wanted privacy, but boy when someone got in trouble, they jumped all over themselves to help,” Cox said. George said though the landscape has changed from ranches to mansions from the time his parents first settled in the area, the feeling of community still endures in the current population of 3,000. “Times have changed drastically from the time I grew up to now,” George said. “And without a doubt theres going to be more changes to come.” TEXAS LOTTERY SATURDAY LOTTO    j    PICK 3 Jackpot: $16 million    |    Day    4-5-5 9-10-18-26-41 BB 2    j    Night    1-5-9 WEDNESDAY LOTTO    I    tfxaS TWO- fTLXflS ; Jackpot: $2° minion    j    STEP L01    11 Hi    13.19.33.3^41 bb 18    I    I-8-15-23BB 14 MEGA    MILLIONS    I    CASH FIVE 22-384&5B55MB29 Megapfer. 4    I    3-13-29-31-32 Answering Creations Critics Scientific answers to the Bible’s description of creation A small-group ministry of Tree of Life Church open to the public.
