Providing the limo service was Journey's Limousine Service of San Marcos. The school's top accelerated readers were Parker Nerby, Bryan Lopez, Sara Garcia, Alexandria Marcum, Kylie Partridge, Nathan Streger, William Giron, and Jessica Mendoza.They were joined by several teachers on the trip. Students named to dean's honor roll at Abilene Christum University Local residents were recently names to the Abilene Christian University’s honor role for the Spring 2005 semester. These students are: ■ Amber Dawn Garcia of New Braunfels a senior majoring in Int.Stud:Early Child-fourth Grade. ■ Jessica Louise Foust of New Braunfels a senior majoring in Biology. To make the dean’s honor roll, a student must complete at least 12 semester hours and earn a 3.45 or higher grade point average. Actors receive honors at youth conference Youth performers from the Inner Circle at Circle Arts Theatre in New Braunfels were selected from more than 200 young performers from 14 theaters across Texas as part of the all-star cast at the 10th Annual Texas Nonprofit Theatres Youth Conference in Arlington lune 2 to 5. Drew Maddox and Jason Rodriguez were chosen for the all-star cast. Inner Circle’s performance of “A Company of Wayward Saints" was part of a three- day conference that included workshops in acting, improvisation, dance and other theater skills taught by theater professionals from around the state. They created an eight-step business plan to market, sell and produce a quality yearbook.They used digital photography, planned the layouts and produced them using Adobe Photoshop.Their teacher was Gena Orth. Photo submitted The Guadalupe Valley Electric Cooperative recently awarded 17, $1,000 scholarships to outstanding students from across the GVEC service area.The recipient selections are based on criteria that includes scholastic achievement, extracurricular involvement and a strong desire to continue their education past high school.Tina Espinoza was chosen as the GVEC Scholarship recipient from New Braunfels High School. Tina is the 18-year-old daughter of Regina Espinoza of New Braunfels. Tina plans to attendTexas State University and pursue a career as a pharmacist. To make the dean’s list, a student must earn a grade point average of 3.65 (on a 4.0 scale) while enrolled full time with a minimum of 12 semester hours. McCutchen named to dean’s list at Bryan College Daren McCutchen. son of David and Janet McCutchen of Canyon Lake, was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2005 semester at Bryan College. To be recognized, a student must earn at least a 3.5 grade average on a 4.0 scale.
