top councils discussion By Scott Mahon Staff Writer They wanted permitonly parking to keep tourists away but residents in one riverside neighborhood will have to get by with no parking zones this sum mer The New Braunfels City Council will consider the first reading of a new ordinance Monday to prohibit parking within five feet of all driveways in an area bounded by South Union East South Street South Central and East Mather Street Its our attempt to give the people in that neighborhood some said Mayor Adam Cork Cork said no parking zones would be just one of several tactics to relieve park ing problems in the area Well also put up temporary direc tional signs directing visitors to Prince Solms he said We approved a new code enforcement officer last meet also want more signs direct ing Schlitterbahn patrons to designated parking areas for the theme City Engineer Mike Short said 46 new signs would be needed to redirect traffic to other parking areas The city plans to paint no parking
