Photo submitted Parents with children in Comal ISD's migrant education program were treated to a cooking lesson from Letty Holmbo of tKe San Antonio Food Bank. After learning some quick tips on how to make a healthy meal, they participated in an arts and crafts project. The meeting was part of an ongoing parent network that will meet periodically during the school year. Photo submitted Reading students in Millie Huber's program at Spring Branch Middle didn’t just illustrate the popular "The Polar Express" Christmas book, they quilted thgir drawings. The special quilt was then given to prefirst children in Kim Farlow's class from nearby Bill Brown Elementary to encourage them to read and appreciate books. The quilt was given in memory of Betty Cobb, a longtime educator in Comal and Seguin ISDs, who recently passed away from cancer. Farlow, left, accepted the quilt from Huber, right, during a special presentation that included Mrs. Claus reading "The Polar Express" to all of the students.
