outgoing board member Bette Spain served tlie community for three terms as a member of the board of trustees of the New Braunfels Indepen dent School District Monday night Superintendent Ron Reaves recognized Spain for her service She served two terms as board presi dent one as vice president and has also been secretary and treasurer Her expertise would be missed Reaves said Bette has been a strong advocate for children and teachers since she was first elected to the board nine years Reaves said A teacher herself she al ways knew how to get a job During her tenure Reaves said Spain supported bond referendums fought for funding and employee benefits and worked to make NBISD a better district She has juggled many volunteer activities in the school system and the Reaves said We
