revisited at the May 15 meeting of commissioners court A GOLF 1A course Dario Sassenhagen golf course manager said Golfers will play on the Landa course and attend socials each night Sassenhagen said golf course employees have been working for Jour or weeks to prepare the course for the event Now we have the course in probably the best shape its he said Aside from the green and fairway being in good shape the golf course has under gone some other changes that should make the tour nament more enjoyable to this years players Rules have been changed to allow golf carts on the fairways speeding up play The golf course grill recently reopened under new ownership and a beyerage cart serves golfers on the course like private Aside from new amenities Sassenhagen also has focused on the attitudes of employees He said a simple hello and goodbye has helped change the atmos phere of the golf course Customer service things have gone a long way around Sassenhagen said The golfers comfort means a lot when translated into tourism dollars The golf course is open to partici for three practice rounds which encourages tourism throughout April It absolutely fills the Young said And we have so much to offer here most of the golfers bring their entire family We could never do this without a great golf course 1A the new season actually begins when the summer sea son ends in September It never the five gift shops pizza arcade 20 refreshment centers and 40 attractions running smooth ly It takes a crew of 12 work ing fulltime just to keep the to colored tubes patched and inflated Employees started working on them this week Theyve blown up about tubes since Fontenot said The park wont be open dai ly until May 17 From April 26 to May 11 the park is only open Saturdays and Sundays Sherrie Brammell Schlit terbahn communications director said the good weath er forecast would afford the park a typical opening week end Saturday should be mod erate and Sunday should be pretty slow a good day for families and those who dont like the crowds of typical weekends Its always slow Fontenot said But he considers that a good thing Td rather ease into he said Business at the park will increase gradually giving Fontenot and his crews time to get everything done before Schlitterbahn hits the height of the season in June Thats what these first weekends are for to work out some of those
